Our Services
The primary mission of the Jamaican Consulate General in New York is to promote and safeguard the interest of Jamaica and Jamaicans in the thirty three (33) States under the jurisdiction of the United States, Puerto Rico and Bermuda. The Consulate also seeks to strengthen the linkages with the Jamaican Diaspora and encourage their participation in national development.
The Consulate General offers a wide range of services, including:
- Processing of passport applications;
- Issuance of emergency certificates;
- Letters of No Objection;
- Processing and issuance of visas and other relevant documents to foreigners visiting Jamaica;
- Authentication of documents;
- Facilitate the processing of pension benefits for Jamaican nationals residing in the United States;
- Safeguarding the interests of Jamaican minors and nationals, lacking full capacity, particularly in matters of guardianship and trusteeship;
- Safeguarding the interest of Jamaican nationals in matters of estate;
- Protection of the welfare of incarcerated nationals;
- Provision of information regarding regulatory requirements for Returning Residents;
- Processing of applications for Jamaican citizenship;
- Jamaica Information Service (JIS) providing information regarding Jamaica's culture, history, and national heritage for educational projects and research purposes.
